Jeffery Cross was born and raised in the West. He studied the mechanics and practice of photography at the Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara. After graduation, he migrated north to make the Bay Area home. Now working out of his studio in West Oakland he works with clients to create product- and concept-based still-life imagery. A ravenous collector of contemporary and vintage photographic literature on lighting theory and process, and an owner of a WAY-TOO-LARGE collection of vintage industrial stroboscopes, Jeffery is obsessed with how things are made, and the people who make them. When he's not touring factories or shooting for clients, Jeffery spends time with his wife and two daughters at their work-in-progress home in Orinda, California.
